1. Clip up the top and prepare the first layer
Start with damp, detangled hair. Part a section from the tops of the ears around the back and clip the upper hair out of the way. Kayli applies Dream Coat and heat protection section by section, then brushes through. Follow your products’ current directions and avoid soaking the roots unnecessarily.
2. Dry with the brush underneath
For a controlled round brush blowout, take a section narrower than your brush. Place the brush underneath, lift slightly and draw it toward the ends while following above with the dryer nozzle. Aim the airflow down the length. Keep the dryer moving and repeat until that section is dry.
3. Curve the ends and put in a roller
Turn the brush under at the ends to create the curve. With the hair dry and still warm, smooth the ends onto a roller and roll toward the head, keeping the ends tucked smoothly. Clip it in place. Do not force a roller through tangled hair.
4. Work through the middle layer
Release the next horizontal section around temple level. Repeat the product, brush and roller sequence in manageable pieces. Kayli adds extra root lift with a smaller round brush before rolling. Lift the section away from the scalp rather than drying everything flat against the head.

5. Roll the top and front pieces
Continue through the top strip, leaving enough space for each roller. Use a smaller roller where a large one will not fit. Kayli rolls the front pieces under to shape the face-framing curve. Keep the section ends aligned so they do not fold across the roller.

6. Wait for the hair to cool
To set a roller blowout at home, leave the rollers in until the hair is fully cool. Kayli leaves hers for about an hour, but cooling is the useful checkpoint, not copying an exact waiting time. Avoid taking out warm rollers just to check the result, because that releases the shape early.
7. Unroll gently, then loosen the shape
Remove the clip and carefully unwind each roller, using a small twist to release the hair as Kayli shows. Support the section instead of pulling straight down. Once everything is out, shake the roots gently or use a wide-tooth comb if you want a softer finish.

8. Keep the ends smooth overnight
Kayli finishes with a little oil through the mid-lengths and ends. At night she uses a loose silk cap, either with the hair lying down the back or in a very loose bun secured once with a large scrunchie. Keep any overnight tie comfortable and away from the roots.
