1. Cleanse and rinse
Clip your hair back. Wet your hands, lather a little cleanser, and gently massage it over your face. Rinse thoroughly. Joan uses a small amount of the KLAVUU foam; follow your own cleanser’s label if you substitute it.
Gently cleanse before applying leave-on products.

2. Pat on toner, if you use one
For this hydrating toner routine, pour a little into your palms and pat it over your face and neck. Joan repeats this three times. Start with one light layer and stop when your skin feels comfortable. Three layers are her preference, not a requirement for healthy skin.
Joan pats toner onto her skin.

3. Apply the optional eye products
Joan pats on an eye serum, followed by an eye cream. Use a small amount around the eye area as directed, keeping it out of your eyes. You can skip this two-product step if your usual moisturizer already works comfortably there.
Eye serum comes before eye cream.
4. Smooth on moisturizer
Spread moisturizer over your face and neck. Use enough for comfortable coverage without leaving a thick, slippery layer. Joan uses a lightweight moisturizer here and skips a separate essence.
Apply moisturizer before sunscreen.

5. Finish skincare with sunscreen
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher as directed on the label, including exposed areas around your face and neck. Joan demonstrates a puff, but prioritize even coverage and the full labeled amount. Let the sunscreen settle before makeup, and reapply as directed.
The final skincare step is sunscreen.

6. Add a light primer and base, if wanted
Pat on a small amount of glow primer. Follow with one thin layer of BB cream, pressing it in with a clean puff. Keep coverage light so you can still see the finish underneath.
Pat in primer, then a thin base layer.

7. Powder only where you want less shine
Load a little powder onto a brush and lightly press it over shiny areas. Joan focuses on her forehead. For a dewy skin makeup look, leave the cheeks less powdered so their finish still shows through.
Powder selected areas instead of the whole face.
8. Place highlighter on the cheekbones
Brush a small amount of highlighter along the high point of each cheekbone. Check in daylight before adding more. The finish should come from thin layers, rather than a thick coat of product.
Keep the highlight on the cheekbones.
