On clean, prepared nails, apply a thin base coat and let it dry as directed. Keep polish off the surrounding skin. The video starts with the nails already shaped, so file them beforehand if needed. You will be using regular polish for this version.

2. Apply the sheer pink polish
Brush on a thin coat of Essie Mademoiselle. Let it dry enough for another coat, then add a second if you prefer the coverage shown. Leave a narrow margin around the cuticle so the finish looks tidy and the next layers do not pool there.

3. Rub on a little chrome powder
For chrome powder on regular nail polish, pick up a small amount with a sponge applicator and gently rub it over the nail. Test one nail first: the polish should hold the powder without denting or smearing. The video does not specify a wait time, so judge by your polish rather than a fixed timer.

4. Clear away excess powder
Turn the applicator to its clean side and gently remove loose powder around the edges. Repeat the same light application on the remaining nails. Check under good light before sealing; a small amount of powder is enough to make the pink surface reflective.

5. Seal with a water-based layer
The tutorial uses UNT Ready for Takeoff, a water-based peelable base, over the chrome to help preserve the smooth finish. Float a light coat across the surface without scrubbing it. Let it dry fully and follow your products’ instructions if adding a compatible final top coat.
