Wayne starts with black pencil on the upper waterline. For a simpler version, keep an eye-safe pencil on the outer skin close to the upper lash roots. Use small strokes rather than one thick line. Skip waterline application if your eyes are sensitive or your product is not labeled for it.

2. Press shadow close to the roots
With a small, flat brush, press a little dark eye shadow along the upper lash line. Work between the visible roots from the lid side, keeping loose powder out of the eye. This adds definition without covering much lid space. Remove excess from the brush before touching the skin.
3. Curl before adding mascara
For this eyelash curling technique, place clean, dry lashes inside the curler and make sure no skin is caught. Close gently at the base, release, then move a little farther along the lashes for a softer bend. Do not pull on the tool or clamp over dried mascara.

4. Separate a light mascara layer
Wayne paints liquid liner onto the lashes before using a mascara-loaded lash comb. We skip the liner-on-lashes step and use mascara as labeled. For separated mascara lashes, apply a light coat and carefully comb through while it is still workable. Keep the comb parallel to the lashes and away from the eye.

5. Finish with an optional lift and highlight
Wayne uses a purpose-made heated lash wand and adds a small highlight at the inner corner. If you use a heated tool, follow its temperature and application instructions and stop if it feels hot. Otherwise, keep the curl from step three and finish with a tiny touch of eye shadow.
Source & notes
This is a clearly labeled adaptation of Wayne Goss’s demonstration. It omits liquid eyeliner painted onto the lashes and keeps pencil off the waterline by default. Wear time varies; we do not repeat the video’s all-day guarantee.
